Meet Your Guide: Raigan Roy, B.S. Psychology

Hi, I’m Raigan, and I understand the struggle with binge eating, emotional eating, yo-yo dieting, body image issues and sugar addiction all too well. My journey began when I was just five years old. I remember looking at my thighs in kindergarten and feeling like I was fat. By the time I reached third grade, I was running laps around the house before doctor appointments, hoping to see a lower number on the scale.

In fifth grade, I was dieting, determined to avoid sugar and not binge, but every day, I found myself caught in the same painful cycle. At night, I would promise myself to be “better” the next day and finally get “skinny.” Yet, despite never being overweight, I felt immense pressure and self-loathing.

By high school, my binges escalated—I could eat an entire loaf of bread with butter and jelly in a day, followed by a box of cookies at night. This cycle of self-shaming and destructive behavior continued, and my weight eventually exploded to a clinically obese level.

Have you ever gone on a diet and you lose the weight only to find you still are unhappy after the weight is off so then you gradually gain the weight back? That was my experience too because I was using willpower to stop eating sugar and binge eating, and I also wasn’t looking at the true reason why I wanted to lose the weight, I wanted it for vanity reasons.

Eventually I discovered the secret to losing weight, keeping it off, and, most importantly, feeling good about myself. I learned to love myself. I found happiness, love, and connection from within instead of seeking it from food and sugar. This transformation allowed me to become an amazing woman both inside and out. I would be honored if you allowed me the opportunity to share my insights with you and help you feel better about yourself and your relationship with food!
